Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children has found a ground-breaking new way to treat diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), a common brain tumour found in children under the age of 15. The brainstem is affected in DIPG which helps us to use those involuntary actions such as heart rates, breathing, and even swallowing. Canadian doctors have delivered chemotherapy via MRI-guided ultrasound this being a world-first in this type of technology.

Once In A Lifetime Event at Ontario Hospital

A unique event took place at the Queensway Health Centre in Etobicoke when a young couple tied the knot in the hospital lobby. Siqi Yang, the bride, underwent a life-saving brain surgery last February and consequently spent much of 2022 at the Toronto area hospital so it was only fitting that the couple chose the hospital as their wedding venue to celebrate love and health.
