Canada Ranks in the Top 10 Nations for Total mpox cases, According to WHO

The mpox (monkeypox) outbreak is escalating, with Canada in the top 10 for most cases. Between Jan. 1, 2022, and Aug. 9, 2023, there were 89,308 confirmed global cases as per WHO. Last July 28, 2023, Canada reported 1,503 cases, slightly higher than WHO's 1,496 due to varied criteria. Canada ranks tenth globally; the U.S. leads at 30,446 cases. In July, 1,020 new global cases arose; 77.2% were from the Western Pacific Region, primarily China.
